Yeah, I’m sure you’re sick and tired of hearing about this deck/patio, but think of how tired I am from working on the thing!!! This weekend my parents made some time to help again and we made some serious progress. Saturday Dad and I got all the pavers down for the patio while Nikki and Mom got all the dirt we had to move graded out and cleaned up. This morning we woke up to a downpour which was a bummer, but we got Elias up and fed then Nikki and I headed off to Lowe’s for one final trip (we hope). We traded in our extra/broken pavers and got some of the last bits and brought them all home. Mom and Dad came over again and we finished pretty much everything except getting the cement/sand between the pavers and that was only because of the rain. It’s mostly done and looking really good if I do say so myself. It’s been a long 5 weekends, so we’re really looking forward to enjoying it now for the rest of the summer. This afternoon we went out on avalanche with Mom and Dad and had a great time testing Elias’ sea legs. Then we had a great turkey dinner at their house (with sashimi appetizers) to round off an excellent weekend. So thanks mom and dad, now I officially CAN NOT say I did the whole project myself! 😉
Elias is also beginning to learn/imitate us very well now. We taught him how to use a spoon this week, and cheers as well:
He’s also good at taking off hats and sometimes putting them back on:

Your photographs are amazing looking, I really like your gallery. If you do not mind me asking, what “effect” are you using for this gallery…lightbox, highslide, shadowbox etc. And what style do you have your nextgen gallery set as…K2 Theme, Shadow effect, Default, etc…? Did you have to put in any code somewhere to obtain this effect?
I am asking because I will be working with a professional portraiture photographer for Blogcritics.org and my site as well and I want her images to look as good as possible.
One final question, do you know of a way to make video galleries comparable and similar to the photo galleries and what plugin or code is needed?
I know this is a lot of questions, but I am a true fan of your site and will be linking to it on mine as I hope that helps with your SEO.
