Some X100s samples:
by Ben
Went to Wachusett with Elias last weekend. Had a great time and Elias no longer uses an “edgy wedgie”. We skied almost all day (9-4pm). This past weekend we had easter at the house and celebrated my birthday as well as Isabella’s Sunday. It was a great time.

The EVIL truth:
by Ben
Call them EVILs (Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens), CSCs (compact system cameras) or MILKs (mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras), but these cameras all have a few things in common. They’re small, and they’re meant to replace your big camera to a certain extent. Yes some people are stepping up to these cameras from a P&S, but for the most part anyone […]

Weekly Catchup!
by Ben
Trying to keep up on weekly posts again in 2013! These are from Thursday and Friday around the house with the kids, then Saturday hiking Mount Washington with my buddy Dave Simms. Kids are doing great and getting BIG (especially Bella)! Hiking was fun in the cold. Enjoy!

2012 Recap
by Ben
2012 was one heck of a year for me. I lost my desk job in January which was the best thing to ever happen to me. I worked on a television show for PBS which I both filmed for and was in. I lost 45 pounds. I went full time with my photography business. We […]

Merry Xmas!!!
by Ben
long time no posts, I know… We’ve moved officially (to Jamestown). We’re almost done with out old house (I’ll post details about that when it’s official). Work has wound down from 60 hour weeks since Thanksgiving to a normal 40 now. And I’ve had two of the last three days off only working half a day on […]

Photoexpo 2012
by Ben
Took my anual trip to photoexpo Saturday. It’s always a great show and well worth the time for me but this year was especially good for a few reasons. The first is EVIL/CSC cameras and their “systems” are really maturing. Sony has the NEX 6 and 5r with their new 10-18mm. Fuji has the X-E1 […]

Brooklyn Bridge
by Ben
Photoexpo (a photography trade show) was in New York City this weekend. I love going to the show and checking out the new toys as well as talking with my affiliates. I also got a chance this trip to meet and shoot with Dan Carr for sunrise. We both had the same thought with shooting […]

“Is this Photoshopped?”
by Ben
This question is one that comes up far too often in photography these days because of the digital nature of most of our work. I’ve recently been asked this very question by the gallery owners at the three different galleries I’m (fortunate enough to be) in right now. This morning I opened a can of […]

Autumn at Enders Falls!
by Ben
Because fall at Ender’s Falls just sounds weird… Ha ha. Went to Enders Saturday morning with Bryan from NSOP and had a great time. We hit up every fall in the series (first time I’ve done that in one trip) so I was sure to get a “passable” shot of each just so I could […]

Congrats Lindsey and Andrew!
by Ben
I got the chance to go to a wedding for fun a few weekends ago. My cousin Lindsey got married in Minneapolis and Nikki and I had the pleasure of getting out there for a long weekend. We had a blast and they had an amazing wedding. It was great catching up with everyone. For […]

IJJ 53 week update!
by Ben
Well the big news this “week” is I have a new job. I’m the printing press operator at winkflash.com which is a local printing house (third biggest in the US and 4 miles from our house!). It’s been a lot of fun learning the ropes, printing presses are no jokes and keep me on my toes. It’s […]

Arca compatible holster solution:
by Ben
If you’re an L-bracket user looking to use a holster as well, you know this isn’t an easy problem to solve. If you put the holster pin or plate or button onto your L-bracket it takes valuable space from your clamp. It also makes the camera unbalanced when you set it down on a flat […]

Up Monroe…
by Ben
So I obviously posted about climbing Mount Monroe already this weekend here. But that was just the best images from the trip like I usually do with my landscape outings. With this trip though it was an overnight at the lake of the clouds hut with a lot of hiking around so I’ve got a ton […]
