Ben you did a review of an L bracket for OMD EM5. I cannot find the link to that website of the man you mentioned to look at their L brackets. Could you please e-mail the website? Thank you for you help.
Jarine,
Thanks for the comment. This is the only review I found with an OMD L-bracket in it and I can’t find the brand/name of the bracket anywhere in there: http://www.benjacobsenphoto.com/2012/gear/arca-compatible-holster-solution/
A quick search of amazon shows a bunch of new and better options there though, I’d go with one of those if I were you.
Ben
Ben, got your card on my truck -thanks for capturing a fun night on the water! Great shots! I think you know the Matthews? We are neighbors and my wife Kate does photography as well. Thanks again for leaving your card!
Rob!
I’m pretty sure we met at Chris’ Bday party this summer! Small island is small. It was funny seeing the guy with Hawaii plates out in the cold water. I was hoping the card would work, the kids were too cold to stay and talk.
Thanks!
Ben
Hi Ben,
Thanks for the reviews. Would you mind sharing which insert have you replaced the Lowepro’s one with? Does it fit nicely and gives you more height and width?
I’m pondering about buying Whistler, but I need three rows of lenses and I read that might be a hard fit in original basket. Since I do not need that super extra protection, I was considering a surgery on the inset (as described here: http://davidcschultz.com/lowepro-whistler-450aw/), but an alternative inset sounds interesting.
Cheers
Bernard,
I also butchered my stock insert as shown in that link but my new insert option is a mindshift backlight 26l by removing everything but it’s guts making it into an insert. It’s not inexpensive but it got me what I wanted. I bought the mindshift used.
Good luck!
Ben
Hi Ben,
Thanks for a quick reply. So it seems even after surgery it was not satisfactory? I was hoping I can get away with that only. It’s hard to find a replacement for my trusty Lowepro Nature Trekker AW II… And availability of Mindshift Backlight 26 or 36, here in Europe is close to none.
Hi Ben,
I noticed on the Arca Swiss Instagram page that you are happy with your purchase of the L60 leveler and are using it with a ballhead for architectural photography.
May I ask if you’re using it with the Arca Swiss P0 ballhead?
Do you feel it would have any issues mounted on a P0 (making it very tall) vs a P0 hybrid?
Can you offer an opinion as to how well the L60 would work for macro photography (mounted on a tripod with or without ballhead)?
Many thanks,
Larry
Larry,
I’m using mine on a RRS BH-30 and BH-25. It does make the total height taller but the way I use it it’s fine. Set the level roughly with the ball head and lock it. Then use the L60 to level things perfectly. It’s tall but it’s no taller than the geared head I was using (manfrotto 405). I’ve had the cube as well and I just hate swapping heads all the time so it’s the best compromise for me. Ballhead for scapes then add the L60 for arch work.
Good Luck!
Ben
Can prints of this be purchased?
yes!
I’m late to the party. But wouldn’t it work with one of those clamps and a cheese plate that is about 5cm 2in wide so the camera would hang in the position the spider is designed to carry it?
I think it would work fine for those that aren’t handy with the tools and the cheese plate can find other uses when shooting.
Nevertheless your solution is a great one and way better for the pocket than the really expensive Arca clamp from spider.
The only thing at the moment is trying to figure what length cheese plate would be the best not to get in the way for focusing and zooming. I think about 9-10cm (3 and a bit to 4in)
this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It took me a few years longer to run into similar problems but still loving my ‘old’ iMac. This will be far cheaper than buying a new iMac. Thanks.
Thanks for posting the information. My mid 2011 27” iMac only has a 256GB SSD. The Mac has been a boat anchor for a few years as I have no disk space.. I want to replace it with a 2TB SSD if possible. The search will start!
Great review Ben! Those moon shots are excellent.
Thanks Roy!
The wolf photo is amazing. Great placement among the yellow flowers!
Thank You!
