Yeah, back to work this weekend!  Last weekend I took a little time off for good behavior.  Working on the little boat on Saturday (and sailing it to prove it was together right ;)).  Sunday of last weekend was spent actually finishing the deck which felt good.  But that only meant I had the patio to go for this weekend.  Which of course made for a busy week with avalanche and crew getting back Sat night/Sun morning of last weekend.  That mean Aunt Nancy was in town for the first time in 5 years and she could meet Elias finally!!!  So Tuesday night we tried to sail the little boat and couldn’t due to a lack of breeze.  Instead we took Elias over and introduced him to ANBF!  They both had a blast!  After that we sailed the little boat Wednesday with 5 people on board (see the shots below).  Then this weekend I spent the entire weekend working on the deck.  Mom, Dad and Ruleo were kind enough to come over and help load the dumpster Saturday morning (it was foggy, as soon as the sun came out they took of but I did get 3 x 3hr = 9 hr of work!!!).  We filled that to the GILLS!  Once they left, I leveled out the patio (excavated the dirt) then at around 5pm Nikki Elias and I went to Lowes to get the patio parts.  That only took 2 Lowes (had to find one with a truck in stock) and 4 hours (to get all the pavers home in 2 trips).  So by 10pm I was finally home and officially beat…  But that meant I had a sunrise to shoot Sunday (see below) AND a patio to put down.


So today I worked on the patio all day, excavating some more and laying most of the pavers.  I have a good sized section to go along the side of the deck, then another smaller rectangle next to where our fire pit is going.  But I got enough down that when M&D and Ruleo came over for dinner we had a patio!!!  Looks pretty good IMHO.  I can’t wait until next weekend when I’m done done, but with the help with the dumpster and powering through most of the patio today I’m finally feeling like we’re getting somewhere.  I was really nice to see the patio in action tonight though because all my ideas actually played out in action as I’d planned.  It’s a pretty nice layout IMHO.
