Tried to go surfing last night. My local Magic Sea Weed report said I should have 5~6′ waves. I got down to the beach and they were barely 2′! I always bring my camera with me anyway, and I was hoping to get some shots in post surfing, so I just went and shot right away. Turned out I was pretty lucky as there was still plenty of light when I got out to the point, but it was all gone before I was done. It was a great walk on the beach, and a gorgeous night.

All 3 images were shot with my 5D and 45mm TS-E lens. The one up top is 7048 X 2863 (20.18mp!) full sized. The other two are 5575 X 4344 (24.22mp!) once merged, but I cropped them to my preferred 3:2 yielding 5575 X 3717 (20.72mp!) images. Can’t wait to see how they look printed.

I’ve also been working on a new border for my online images. I’m trying to get something that looks more like a full frame 35mm print (with those grungy black edges). I’ve come up with something that’s “OK” but not perfect. Check out the gallery below as it has the 3 images done both ways.
