Day 4
Rain Day! We’d been watching the weather the previous few days and knew it was set to rain today. We decided to sneak out to Vestrahorn in the morning before it got nasty. We also planned to get as far back west as we could today as it’s all backtracking towards our first night’s campsite. We made sure to stop and check out a few things along the way but for the most part, we used the rain as an opportunity to get some serious driving done so we could see more new and different things tomorrow when the weather was nice again. We were lucky enough to see a reindeer (raindeer?) which was right on the side of the road!!
We ended up making it all the way back to Hella for the night. Hella had another fun pool, not the best of the trip, not the worst, but still great (and probably the highlight of the day?). Slides and hot tubs all around! The hella campsite was nice and secluded. Their space is divided into sections with natural tree barriers and we had one section all to ourselves. The kitchen was packed with a lot of people on the rainy day but we squeezed in and got dinner done.
