Well, I finally got to ski Tuckerman’s this season!  It was my fourth trip up in winter and I got four runs in.  We were working on the same PBS project I’ve been working on all winter so we hiked with a group and had a lot of fun.  I skied left chute then icefall three times.  The snow was questionable in the morning, the one group who skied before us packed it up after one run and said it was terrible, but it was juuuuust warming up as we got there.  After the first run we moved over to icefall (which was a bit riskier to ski with the hanging blocks of ice) where the snow was smoother and it was much better skiing.  It didn’t hurt that the sun actually came out and loosened everything up perfectly.  What a great end to my ski season for 2011/2012.  I’ll be back up there though, I’ve really enjoyed getting out hiking there every month so far this winter.   I’m thinking of trying to hike it once a month all of 2012.  Enjoy!
