Went to Mount Washington this weekend. I’m working on a project with some friends for PBS right now, so we hiked Tuckerman’s. We also had enough time to go all the way to the top for my first time ever. It was a great day for it, ~70º at the bottom and ~50º at the top with winds of <30mph the whole time. I actually hiked in a t-shirt the whole time and was either perfect or too hot! It was awesome to get out into the mountains again, it’s something I really miss from living in MT. I always forget how easy it is to get up to NH for hikes like this (obviously not as easy as the <1 hours drives in Bozeman though). It was also great to go with a group so we could keep each other awake during the drive (I didn’t drive at all actually). I can’t wait to go back, I’m hoping for another trip this fall to hike, then skiing it 2~3 times this winter. It was crazy to see it w/o any snow though.
I used the app I use to track my bike rides for our climb (the battery was down to 10% at the top so I couldn’t use it both ways). The mileage is off on this since it’s a 4.1 mile hike each way, but it’s still cool to see:
