We all went over to Debbie’s house Friday night to keep her company (she can’t drive and Andy is in Martha’s Vineyard). This meant I had to take Elias with me if I wanted to go shoot a sunrise the next morning, but Saturday was the best option weather wise… So I planted the seed the night before with the promise of a donut and got him up at 4am and off we went. He loved the fact we were up before the sun and stayed awake the entire drive (an hour total with 20 of it being out of the way for the donut). He did well on the beach too, but when I first setup he said “daddy, one picture then we go home OK?”… I distracted him with rocks to throw and puddles to jump in and we ended up staying for quite a while. It was a ton of fun, hopefully he’ll come with me some more!
Sunday was spent at home in the rain all day. Nikki went for a run and got soaked, I tried to do the same only to realize I’d left my shoes on the boat last weekend so I went for a ride instead (I don’t mind either in the rain, but running is more fun since I get so hot when I run normally). Now today is daddy daycare with Isabella at home. we’re chilling and working on blog posts (when she’s asleep). We also won our first viper race this past tuesday which was awesome. We had a decent start and once we got out into first (we had to dip one boat coming off the line) we stayed there for the entire race. That felt amazing. The second race we were over early but still managed a 4th out of 7 which wasn’t terrible, and we also won the night (but the vipers are so close, three boats finished the night with 5 points, we won a tiebreaker because we won a race where the other two traded second and third place finishes).
