We made it out to Block Island for the second time of the summer this weekend.  We took the ferry out first thing Sunday morning (8am ferry!) to make sure we got in plenty of beach action with Elias in the 2 days we had to play (really a bit over a day there).  We went to the “big beach” Saturday AM where Bumpa and Daddy got to boogie board a bit in the surf.  Yeah yeah, I know, I was a sponge for a day, but bringing the surfboard out with a 2 year old wasn’t happening… Dad and I both had a great time though playing in 3~4′ waves while Elias, mommy, Ganny and whoever of us were not surfing played in the sand with him.  Then in the afternoon we went to the little beach where Dad and I went clamming and Elias got to go boogie boarding himself for the first time as well as a kayak ride.  Today we went back to the little beach for some fun with a crab and more boogie boarding before heading home a bit afternoon.  It sure is fun to be able to get out there though, we came home to 90 heat where we were wearing long sleeves out there all morning!
