^ That’s a video, so watch it for the meat of the review. The f-stop tilopa is an amazing backpack. I’ve had it for about a month now and I’ve yet to be uncomfortable wearing it, even with my entire kit packed into it just to see how it’d feel. It’s not winter and being in RI now I’m far from snow, so I haven’t given it a proper BC test yet, but just hiking around for a few hours I’ve found it VERY comfortable and easy to use. Access the the camera block is awesome (although I personally would love to see side access). My biggest complaints with the bag are the proprietary buckles and the lack of velcro on the entire inside of the camera block, but I’ve emailed that to f-stop and BOTH have been fixed in the new model (apparently mine is one of the last of the old style). The frame is excellent, it gives some great support w/o getting in the way. The fact they have 4 different size ICUs (the camera portion) makes the system even more versatile and they currently offer a bigger bag (the satori) with a smaller one due in June 2010 (this month).
The attention to detail on this bag is great. Everything works the way it should and it carries a load VERY comfortably. If you’re looking for a back access camera backpack, this should be at the top of a VERY short list.
Sorry about the wind noise on this shoot, I had my GF1 with me and it’s TERRIBLE even with the slightest wind (look at how flat the water is). I usually do my video reviews unrehearsed and in ONE shot as to give the most honest review possible, this is actually TWO clips only because I hurried through one part thinking some fishermen were about to walk behind me. All the other cuts are just to cut out sections where the wind noise completely blocks the audio. And yes I could stand to lose ~20lbs.
