Happy mothers day to all the moms out there. Elias and I had some fun making some crafts for Nikki yesterday. I picked up a few canvases and some finger paints on the way home Friday. While Nikki was out running her 10k on BI Elias and I went to work. I also managed to remove the railing and 1/3 of the decking from our deck yesterday. We’re just back from Mothers Day Brunch at the pub and I’m hoping to get the rest up this afternoon. Whoever built this deck had even less of a clue than I do… The decking was put down at a 30 angle AND there was no spacing between the boards. The angle is just annoying, but the lack of space means no drainage which means rotten wood (even PT has it’s limits). Our issue with the gas line this spring meant I had to cut a hole in the deck anyway, so now we’re working on tearing the whole thing out. We’ll be replacing it with a smaller deck, but with a patio that will make the space larger and more fun. So follow along with the progress on the blog for the next month or so…. You’ll also notice the last 4 shots in the gallery below (and the one top left) have me IN THEM!!! I had a friend from my forum take some shots of the fam damly for mothers day gifts… So a BIG THANK YOU to Meg Robinson for shooting these for us.
GREAT JOB, Meg!! These came out great!
Elias is getting so big!! And he’s absolutely adorable.
