OR, vacation’s almost over? Yeah, it’s Sunday and work starts tomorrow. Vacation FLEW by waaaaaaay too fast this summer. The weather was pretty terrible most of the week (basically until Friday) so we didn’t get to do some of the fun things we’d planned. I did get out and shoot 4 sunrises on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I almost made it out this morning but needed the sleep. The weather was epic for Wednesdays sunrise (but it started raining ~10 minutes after I packed up) and then foggy for the next two.
We went to the zoo Wednesday afternoon in an absolute downpour… It was forecast to clear, and the DJ on the radio said it’d just cleared in Narragansett when we got to the zoo, so we figured it would be clearing shortly. We loaded up the stroller with a rain coat over the top and use the umbrella, but yeah, it rain (poured even) the ENTIRE time we were there. We did however still have a good time and Elias LOVED the animals.
Thursday was Elias daycare day (you still have to pay half your bill but can half your days) so Nikki and I went to a movie (proposal which was fun). Friday we had a BBQ at Katie and Matt’s which was a ton of fun (and good weather except for 2 quick downpours with the accompanying lightning, but after the weeks weather that seems quite nice actually!).
Yesterday was 4th of July at the cottage for Andy’s birthday which was a ton of fun. Elias was again in the water as much as we’d let him. We’d only stop him when he was getting cold so we’re in need of some sort of water shirt for him now. He just LOVES to play in the water. We meant to get to the beach at some point this week but couldn’t fit it in with the weather issues.
