Finally decided on a new bag. After MUCH hemming and hawing (is that even how you spell that?) I went with the Tamrac Adventure 4. It’s also called the 5534 and can be found here. It’s looking like a good decision. The only 2 issues I see with it right now are that it’s just a TAD smaller than my perfect size with the 14-24 and 24-70 hoods (they’re VERY wide). I have a friend with this bag though who says his stretched a bit, and they DO fit, it’s just a tight fit. But I did want small and compact, so I think it’ll be perfect once I get used to it. The second issue is the front buckle. It’s a non standard buckle which is a bit retarded… I’m thinking I’ll get used to it as well. My issue with that though is with this thing loaded for landscaping (filters in the top lid and front pouch) it’s tight to get the buckle buckled, so add to that it being different and it’s not easy. It’s also not adjustable, but it closes when the bag is loaded, just not super easily. I’m hoping I adjust there as well. Oh, and I wish it was ALL BLACK!!!!
But it is looking to be a good bag honestly. In that loaded pic it’s got a 70-300, 24-70 and 14-24 on my D700. None of those are small, but it’s my landscape kit. I’ve got 2 77mm filters and one X-pro (VERY BIG panel filter) in the top lid, then the X-pro holder in the front pocket with my s90 P&S. The side (cell phone) pocket fits my pixel pocket PERFECTLY (very tight which is perfect).
