I finally decided on a raid enclosure.  I’d been looking at a few different options but in the end it came down to the reviews and the websites.  Drobo has NOTHING negative written about it anywhere (that’s not operator error at least).  They also CALLED ME directly after I emailed them a few questions.  This thing just works and it’ll work on both my mac or a PC if needed.  It’s pretty slick really.  I’ve got 2x1tb drives in there now giving me 1tb of usable space, but it’s got 2 empty bays meaning I can toss in more drives as needed.  I figure by the time I fill 1tb of space, 2tb drives will be super cheap and I’ll be golden.  Once those fill then I can swap out the 1tb drives (one at a time) and get to 6gb easily, more as bigger drives are available.  It took me ~10 minutes to install the drives, make space for it on my desk and get it setup/formatted.  Then it copied all my images from 2003~2009 over.
