So I went to Okemo Wednesday. It was a beautiful day on the hill. No drama getting there as I remembered everything this time… It was about 20ºF on the hill, so a comfortable temp. I skied with the camera again, so I came home with more pictures. The snow was only alright… I love Okemo for their grooming, but it rained there Sunday and it showed. Some trails were OK~Good, but most were very firm underneath and had moon cookies on top. There were ZERO crowds so I was able to lap the lifts all I wanted getting in 5~6 runs per hour top to bottom on any quad I picked. I did get tired pretty early because my legs aren’t in shape yet, but I still had a ton of fun. I was alone all day and did miss having someone (anyone!?) to ski with… Having Nikki pregnant does have it’s disadvantages too, but I guess it means another ski buddy in a few years. I’ll tell you one thing, Okemo isn’t shy with what they charge for lunch… $16.xx for a chilli bread bowl, fries and a gatorade!!! A burrito and beer were about the same at the end of the day at the sitting bull (mental note, that will also work for lunch next time…). Anyway, I had fun and got in a ton of laps due to no crowds. That actually led to being a bit bored by the end of the day since I had no one to ski with. Next time I’ll ditch the camera for the afternoon and hit the park as I have plenty to learn there.
