We finally made it out to Block Island for the first time this summer. My parents take their boat out every weekend. We have an open invitation to go anytime we want and we love it there… We just have a hard time finding time where we can get away for a whole weekend with out house schedule (honey do list!) and our social schedule. Moseley and I joined Mom and Dad for an adventuresome sail out on Friday night. Nikki caught an early ferry Saturday morning. We had 2 lovely days on the boat surfing, walking the beach, fishing, lobstering and just about anything else you’d want to do for fun on Block. Moseley loves it out there because he knows he will get walked on a beach at least 3 times a day. Dad I and went fishing with some new friends (that are sailing around the world, read about that here) and caught 13 fish. Unfortunately all the stripers were too short, but in total we caught 4 stripers and 9 blue fish. 7 of the blues were kept for lobster bait. Good thing too, because we caught one. Nikki and I got to keep it because I caught the fish, baited the traps, hauled them and cleaned the dinghy (Dad’s rules). We had a great time and hope to get out on the boat again soon.
Thanks M&D!
